Pressure Residual Valves
Baer's 2-pound and 10-pound pressure residual valves are designed to retain a small amount of line pressure needed in certain situations.
A 2-pound valve is used in each circuit of a disc brake system when the master cylinder is mounted below the calipers preventing fluid drain back which can lead to excessive pedal travel.
A 10-pound valve is used in each circuit of a drum brake system keeping a small amount of line pressure present to offset negative pressures that can be generated in the wheel cylinders when the brakes are released due to the high tension of the brake shoe return springs.
Pressure residual valves are machined out of billet aluminum, are available with 3/8-24 inverted flare female or -3AN male threads and have a gray anodized finished. Billet aluminum frame mounts are available separately.
